Dr. Ed Gilsleider is a 1982 graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He and his wife, Lisa, moved to Claremore in May 1982 and never left!

They have raised all four of their children here and are now treasuring their time with grandchildren. There has never been anything else Dr. Gilsleider wanted to do but practice veterinary medicine.

Dr. Ed and Lisa love Claremore, their church, Destiny Life, and their family.

Animal Medical Center has developed into a unique practice, treating virtually every species of animal God has created, in a beautifully equipped hospital.

Dr. Jacquelyn Boehm is a 2014 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband are originally from McLoud, Oklahoma. She has been practicing small animal medicine in Claremore for six years.

Her interests include small animal medicine, dentistry, preventative care, and client education. When not in the clinic, she and her husband enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family. Together they have two young boys, three cats, and two standard poodles.

Dr. Michelle Hand grew up in Nicut, Oklahoma, on a small family farm. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2018 before earning her veterinary degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, in 2024.

She enjoys both small and large animal medicine and surgery, as well as client education, animal welfare, and herd health. Dr. Hand’s hobbies include fishing, racing Sport Compacts, spending time with family, playing video games with her children, and doing pretty much anything outdoors.

She has four children, three dogs, two cats, and plans to continue expanding her family with farm animals.

Dr. Makayla Threde

Dr. Makayla Threde is a 2025 graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband are originally from California, but later moved to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi while her husband served in the US Navy.

Dr. Threde enjoys both small and large animal medicine and has strong interests in herd health and preventative medicine. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs. Her hobbies include horseback riding, scuba diving, baking, paddleboarding, and spending time at the lake.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and daughter, Ruby, flower gardening, riding horses with Ruby, and spending time with her Labradors.

Morgan has been a member of Animal Medical Center since 2020. She enjoys raising her two children, Memphis and Bryce, with her husband, Austin, while also caring for their four dogs.

Morgan enjoys small animal medicine while also working with large animals. She especially loves client education and helping new puppy and kitten owners start their families off on the right foot. She is always eager to meet new faces and make clients smile.

She has a passion for all animals—large, small, and exotic. Along with their two dogs, four cats, and ten chickens, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors, caring for animals, and making memories with her family.

Kiara joined the Animal Medical Center team in June 2022 after completing her veterinary technician training through Tulsa Community College’s Veterinary Technology Program. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, horseback riding, spending time with her dogs, Beau and Daisy, and helping at her family farm in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Ocean has been with Animal Medical Center since August 2023 and is currently studying to become a veterinary assistant. She is passionate about making sure animals feel safe, loved, and at home while in the clinic.

Whether helping pets recover from surgery, assisting with treatments, or caring for boarding animals, Ocean provides a calm and comforting presence. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her golden retriever mix, Goldie.

Receptionist

Alicia joined the AMC team as a receptionist in July of 2026. An animal-lover to the core, she’s always known she was meant to work in veterinary medicine. One of her favorite parts of the job has always been getting to know clients and their pets! When not working, you’ll usually find her spending time with family, cheering her daughter on at her various activities, or loving on her 4 fur babies!
